About Me: I've been bowling since is was 10. Used to ride my bike with my little bag on the handle bars and my shoes around my neck. I could bowl 3 games, have a basket of fries and a cherry coke with real cherry juice from the bar for 4 bucks. Bowled my first 300 in 1982. Carried a 220 avg or better for 10 yrs straight. Then in 1994, I got my hand caught in a machine and shredded the tendon in my right middle finger. For 12 years, every time I picked up a ball, pain shot up my arm. Spring 2006, cleaning out a closet, one of my bowling balls rolled out and with out thinking, I grabbed it in the proper manner, and picked it up. No pain!! I rolled a few across the floor, no pain!! I am bowling in a Tuesday night league now. Average is 201 and I'm getting used to the new oil patterns and equipment.

    Bowling Night in America

    Friday, March 16, 2007, 11:36 AM [General]

Sorry.  I'm a little late with an update.  Had the flu earlier this week and missed out on Tuesday league, and was not able to update from the last Friday, but I will now.

The Friday league I was going to sub for, I am now going to finish out the league with the team I subbed with.  They need a 4th and I said ok.  It was a good night.  the shot was tight, but it held up with little breakdown until the last game, and what breakdown did occur, it was predictable enough to fix in one move.  Used the same ball all night, my Columbia Wrath XP, but I found a back up shot in practice, just inside the 5th arrow with my old U-Dot, straight up the boards that I could have used it I had needed to.

Still having issues with my single pin spares.  Missed a 10 pin and a 7 pin.  Anyway, here are the games and the totals

    203 / 197 / 237 = 640.

I bowl again tonight, so I'll update again on Monday.

    League Night

    Wednesday, March 7, 2007, 07:56 AM [General]

Well, another night of potential, gone down in flames. What started as promising, fell into a pit of despair. lol. Started the first game missing both of the 2-8's that Ii left, but strung the last 5 to shoot 203, then started strike, 10 pin, 9 pin, and it went down hill from there. While I had moments of brilliance, a 4 bagger in the last game, my mental game was shot. I missed all 3 of the 2-8's that I left, as well as a 6 pin and chopped a 3-6.

On the bright side, I picked up 4 splits. Three baby splits and a 3-6-7-10 split. So a little light was shining. I'm still struggling with my spares on the left side of the lane though. I just can't seem to remember the proper technique for these. I'll get there. Practice, practice, practice. lol.

    Anyway, 203 / 181 / 193 = 577.

I sub on Friday, wo hopefully I can pull the week out with a nice series then.

    Axe out.

Hey there from the Windy City! Cold as a witch's...well, I'll be nice. But it's darn cold out here still. Looks like next week might improve, but I won't bet on it.
Up to my eyeballs in tournaments out here & hoping to improve over last year. Wish me luck...I need it!!!
